Traams is getting lots of play in my earholes. I’m hooked, its driving toe-tapping steering wheel slapping sing-a-long post pop punk at its best. get you some, fool.

I’ve got a lengthy show for you, to make up for lost time, a bit. I wrote an article on some of the best albums of 2013 so far and I’m going to play some songs from those very albums (and perhaps some that were not mentioned). So, here’s the list:
Marnie Stern released her latest on March 19th and it is full of Marnilicious goodness. Plenty of Marnie to enjoy on this album, keep an eye out, she’s coming to a town near you dishing up 32 flavors of finger tapping fret slapping splendor.
Bay Area natives, The Mallard, released their album Yes On Blood early 2012 on Castle Face Records and have been playing around for the past year and working on some new stuff to be released very soon (hopehope). . . They’re playing this year’s Noise Pop fest in SF and i think at SXSW
Seth Olinsky from Akron/Family has a side project called Cy Dune, and it’s a bit heavier and fuzzier. Definitely worth keeping an ear open for more stuff from Cy Dune and Akron/Family.
San Diego pop punk band Plateaus released their debut LP in the fall of 2012 and it is a rollicking good time top to bottom. The single Do It For You b/w Jasmine was released in May and a video for the song came out in the summer.
Marnie Stern’s s/t album was right at the top of my best of 2011, so I’m excited to see she’s got another album scheduled to be released in March of 2013, and for now we’ll listen to the first release off that album “Year of the Glad”
1Song #019 – Menomena “Capsule” ~9 minutes
The return of 1song 1show! I’ve come back to hopefully do a weekly show, which will truly be 1 song in 1 show. I’ll play a song, hopefully give you a slice or two of some pertinent information about the band and their current whereabouts/whatabouts; then we’ll move onto the next one. I have another hour long podcast “Feed Your Headcast“, go check it out if you like.
Episode 8 is Part 5 of the Best of 2011, featuring a multitude of tracks from noise-pop indie rock all-stars: Japanther; the Death Set; Parts & Labor; Marnie Stern; and of course, Pterodactyl. In the less than a week that it took me to record this episode I think I switched my favorite album at least 4 times, maybe 5. In the end they are all very very strong albums, but I’d have to give the nod to Marnie Stern. Pterodactyl – Polio (click to listen or download)~58 minutes
